Holyrood Park Apartment is situated across from Holyrood Park, the towering Arthur’s Seat and the University of Edinburgh Pollock Halls of Residence. The Meadows are only a few minutes away. Venues from theatres, cinemas and concert halls as well as restaurants and pubs are no more than ten minutes walk away. Princes Street and the centre of town is a 20 minutes stroll.

How to get to Apartment by car (in about 1 minute from Southside Guest House)

  1. Turn into East Preston Street (on the opposite side of Southside) and drive right to the top placing yourself in the left hand lane as you approach the set of traffic lights
  2. Turn right into Dalkeith Road and place yourself immediately in the left lane Head down Holyrood Park Road (past Pollock Halls on your right)
  3. Just before your enter Holyrood Park ~ turn left into East Parkside

How to get there on foot (in about 5 minutes)

  1. Cross over onto East Preston Street (on the opposite side of Southside) and walk to the top of the Street ,
  2. cross at the Pedestrian Lights, turning right into Dalkeith Road (coasting Scottish Widows Building)
  3. Turn left and head down Holyrood Park Road (past Pollock Halls on your right) ~
  4. Just before your enter Holyrood Park ~ turn left into East Parkside No 34 is the First apartment block on your RIGHT as you enter East Parkside ~
  5. walk across the little bridge overlooking the Innocent Cycle Path to the Apartment Block Main Door

Directions for how to get to Southside Guest House

By Car:

From the West or From the North:
from the West via M8/A8 ~ from the North via the Forth Bridge or from the North via Sterling and the M9 - in all cases take A720 City Bypass heading South (Berwick on Tweed direction) to Straiton Junction and take the A701 into Edinburgh. Follow this road the whole way into the city. The road is designated A701 the whole way. You are getting closer to Southside ( 8, Newington Road) as you turn on Craigmillar Park, Mayfield Road, Minto Street and then Newington Road (different names for the same road and still on the A701) We are right on the corner with West Preston and East Preston Street.

From the South and From the East :
Via the A1 the coastal route. Join the A720 City Bypass at Old Craighall exit/roundabout. Follow the signs for A720 heading North (Airport/Glasgow etc)exit at Straiton Junction and take the A701 into Edinburgh. Follow this road the whole way into the city. The road is designated A701 the whole way. You are getting closer to Southside ( 8, Newington Road) as you turn on Craigmillar Park, Mayfield Road, Minto Street and then Newington Road (different names for the same road and still on the A701) We are right on the corner with West Preston and East Preston Street.

From the South and From the West :
Via the A68 or the A7. Both will take to the Sheriffhall Roundabout - Join the A720 City Bypass and follow the signs for A720 heading North (Airport/Glasgow etc)exit at Straiton Junction and take the A701 into Edinburgh. Follow this road the whole way into the city. The road is designated A701 the whole way. You are getting closer to Southside ( 8, Newington Road) as you turn on Craigmillar Park, Mayfield Road, Minto Street and then Newington Road (different names for the same road and still on the A701) We are right on the corner with West Preston and East Preston Street.

From the South and From the North West:
Via the M74/A74. You can either head from Glasgow and then take the M8/A8 for Edinburgh (then follow directions above - From the West or from the North) or you can leave the A74 at Abington and take the A702 though Biggar heading for Edinburgh. As you come off the A702 do not head into the City Centre but Join the A720 City Bypass heading South (Berwick on Tweed direction) to Straiton Junction and take the A701 into Edinburgh. Follow this road the whole way into the city. The road is designated A701 the whole way. By Bus:

National buses:
arrive at St Andrew's Square very close to Waverley Station from where you can walk, take a taxi or a bus to Southside.

By Train/Rail:
There are two train stations in Edinburgh: Haymarket and the principal station Waverley. You want to come in at Waverley Station - Waverley . You can take a Taxi - about 5/8 minutes journey and around £6. If you prefer to walk (with light luggage!)Waverley is about 25 minutes from Southside. Alternatively catch a bus (see above). By Air:

Edinburgh Airport is located to the west of the city, approximately 10 miles from Southside. Taxi journey time is approximately 25 minutes and will cost approximately £15. Alternatively, there is an inexpensive and frequent bus service to the city centre, approx £3.50 from which a local bus can be caught (see travel by bus above).
